Amongst the professionals, there is agreement plus each will add their own personal experiences as well. There has been a consensus for year in church sound but the knowledge of it has been kept out of the church community because the church community is not organized enough to pool their knowledge and experiences. Although I have never meet Don Davis formally, (at Syn-Aud-Con - The author of several excellent books on sound and acoustics) he has been partially responsible for me getting into this business. I don't know if he has every read my book and I am sure that he would not agree with everything that I have written. But, there are certain principal of church sound that we do agree on 100% which are the fundamental principals all church sound system designs should be based on. This article should make it clear to all churches that there is indeed a consensus amongst us professionals. When you find that kind of agreement, then you can choose between a Chevy, a Buick or a Cadillac.
