----Church Sound System Design - A Reference Manuall - By Don Davis and Pat Brown

Many church people make the comment - Why is it that if I ask 5 sound companies to design us a sound system we get 5 different opinions? Amongst the professionals, there is agreement plus each will add their own personal experiences as well. There has been a consensus for year in church sound but the knowledge of it has been kept out of the church community because the church community is not organized enough to pool their knowledge and experiences. Hence, this web site. Although I have never meet Don Davis formally, (at Syn-Aud-Con - The author of several excellent books on sound and acoustics) he has been partially responsible for me getting into this business. I don't know if he has every read my book and I am sure that he would not agree with everything that I have written. But, there are certain principal of church sound that we do agree on 100% which are the fundamental principals all church sound system designs should be based on. This article should make it clear to all churches that there is indeed a consensus amongst us professionals. When you find that kind of agreement, then you can choose between a Chevy, a Buick or a Cadillac. For many churches, after reading this article, they will know for the first time the difference between a car and a pogo stick. ( or should I say - a professional church audio company and an audio equipment pusher.) Free speech comments by Joe The Soundman
